Go Away!

Peri was sitting in class laughing and joking with friends. When Gabe walked in. She'd sucessfully forgotten about him for a few weeks.

Gabe looked at Peri with his piercing gaze - the same look that earned him a date so many months ago. "Sorry I've been avoiding you."

"No you haven't," she said scarcasm pulling her voice to a higher octave. She'd been avoiding him for the past month. She'd see him walking across campus and head the other way.

"You know this is our third English class together?"

"You don't get to count Science Fiction. I never went to class."

"That's right you dropped out of class," Gabe said looking smug.

"I got an A in that class, I didn't drop."

"How did you pull an A in a class you never attended?"

"I'm just that talented."

Peri just wanted him to go away. She didn't want to think about the night they'd shared or all the secrets he knew.
